Thanks Thank you for your help - that's very useful.

Lehenskammer and Lehnskammer Lehenskammer and Lehnskammer are synonyms:

Adelung - ***Die Lehenskammer, oder Lehnskammer - 12. März 2009 ... Die Lehenskammer, oder Lehnskammer. Die Lehenskammer, oder Lehnskammer***, [1977-1978] plur. die -n, S. Lehenhof. ...

Andres Larsen Jul 27, 2010:
tenant vassals as advisors and administrators the tenant vassals were advisors to the Grand Duke and helped carry out administrative tasks in the Grand Duchy
Andres Larsen Jul 27, 2010:
(advisory) chamber of (tenant) vassals correct

this used to be the (advisory) chamber of (tenant) vassals (of the war college / war council) in the former Grand Duchy of Schwerin
Oliver Walter (asker) Jul 27, 2010:
So it's an administrative body? Thank you (Kim & Andres) for the references, which provide a little information. I provisionally conclude that the Lehnkammer (possibly Lehenkammer?) is some kind of administration that deals with some aspects of fiefs or fiefdoms.
