Just to let you know that the client has just confirmed - even though his duties included many more tasks, the "Druckinstruktor" is simply a "printing instructor".

I would probably find out from my client what they expect from a Druckinstruktor and then use the most appropriate term (instructor, manager, supervisor, etc.)

The job description there shows a very wide range of responsibilities, including the management of people . Two excerpts from two printing publications -- the first is from a private company's newsletter (KBA's 'Report'), and the second is from an Austrian printing publication called 'Papier und Druck' -- support the idea of the Druckinstruktor being a highly experienced technical manager, i.e. print manager.
