Italian term

pubblico esercizio

Italian to English Other
I know what it is (a shop, restaurant, bar or whatever) which requires a public license. I need to know what we'd call in in the UK. Public house or licensed premises might mislead as pubblico esercizio is more than a pub.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to all who answered. It's amazing how such a common and simple word in Italian can be validly translated. In the end I went for public establishment, because I needed the broadest term possible that did justice to the Italian term."
