Plastics: working/processing
I have this with not much relevant context in a document talking about shopfloor control at a manufacturer of medical anatomical figures (phantoms, etc.).
Here is the context (suitably anonymised):
"Fertigung anatomischer Modelle in [Stadt] und [Stadt] mit: Kunststoffbe-/verarbeitung (z.B. Kaltrotation, Warmrotation, Spritzguss)."
The list continues to include metalworking, coating, assembly, etc.
I have consulted a number of sources, incl. Ernst, but to little avail: no direct matches.
My best rendering so far is "cold spin" (and, since we have Warmrotation, "hot spin"). These are methods used in metalworking, but I am naturally not sure if they apply to plastics.
Anyone with more than a passing interest in plastics manufacturing is cordially invited to comment!

rotational moulding/rotomoulding
This is a process often used for large volume hollow plastic objects. There are versions in which the moulds are heated in an oven and other versions in which the mould is directly heated.
There's a good animated demo available (see ref below).
Good luck

Comment: "Many thanks to all commenters. I have chosen this based on the references provided, the peer agreement and also the fact that my client quite obviously makes the same kinds of products (hollow arms and legs, etc.!)."

cold spin
what's good for metalworking is good for plastics, only the material is different. "cold spin", "warm spin", "injection moulding"

unheated spin
Your suggestion of cold spin/hot spin would be perfectly alright, but I would suggest unheated spin for Kaltrotation. There are quite a number of Google hits with this usage.

: I'm certainly not 100% sure that Kaltrotation is cold work.
