French term
en sous-traitance
French to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
I have the following sentence in the recitals of an agreement between a supplier and his customer but have never come across "en sous-traitance" used in this context: "Le Client possède de nombreux sites de fabrication, d’entreposage et plateformes logistiques en propre ou en sous-traitance ...". Any suggestions would be much appreciated :-)

As I read it, and from hands-on experience in the sector, it seems to me that:
Le Client possède de nombreux sites de fabrication, d’entreposage et plateformes logistiques en propre ou en sous-traitance .
The Client has a large number of manufacturing facilities, warehouse and logistics platforms, some of which he operates in his own name, others of which are operated under sub-contract

en NOM propre - they seem to have left out a word but since they know what they mean, to them it doesn't matter

get around "possède"
If this manufacturer "has" subcontractors, he does not "possess" them.
... has at his diposal numerous xxx sites/facilities, some owned, some subcontractors ...

: Me thinks that the Client has lots of sites and owns all of them but that some are managed inhouse by themselves and some are subcontracted to others.....

Could be too. A case of where the writer knows what he means but doesn't write it mean that, only that, and nothing but that.

(that are) sub-contracted
You could also use "that the customer sub-contracts (to third parties)"
