Glossary entry (derived from question below)
English term or phrase:
limp in
Spanish translation:
hacer un intento desganado, desempeñar un juego lento
English term
limp in
Estoy terminando de revisar un texto de póquer y aparece este término en el siguiente contexto:
The biggest factor in deciding whether to play your single ace has less to do with what card it is paired with and more to do with where you are seated at the table.
From a Texas Hold’em Strategy perspective, it is impossible to discount the power of position.
If you are in a very early position, your single ace, even paired with a king, is still just a drawing hand.
While it may be worth limping in with, how often do the late position players simply let everyone limp in without throwing out a raise, and testing the strength of the caller’s hands.
A lot of people will still take the chance on the single ace; especially if it is paired with another overcard or a weaker card of the same suit.
¿Alguna sugerencia? Sé lo que significa (http://dictionary.pokerzone.com/Limp In), pero me gustaría saber si alguien conoce un término o una expresión equivalente en español.
Muchas gracias,
Borja Rosales
