commentary on Genesis 3:4
Having won the first round with Eve he is now in a position to deliver his knock-out blow. Hitherto the serpent had manifested what might be called a religious interest in the welfare of the woman. Now he changes his tactic. Now he is ready to engage in a direct denial of the truthfulness of what God has said. ***He gives to his lie all that he has***, employing a forceful manner of expressing it. We may paraphrase, "It is not true that ye shall surely die".

He puts everything he got into his lie
It means that the serpent is trying to lie with all the things it can come up with to degrade and defame God; i.e. it puts everything it got into his lie.

egoism
The serpent became subtle in presenting Eve his idea, instilling it into her:"Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."He wants Eve not as a companion in his evil domain but as evil as he is.He longs to have a similar, he wishes to widen his own kingdom.

"It is not true that ye shall surely die" - he knows that she is mortal anyway.
