Wie viele verschiedene Kräuter können Sie riechen?
Und was macht man aus Zirbenzapfen?
Frisch auf – finden Sie es heraus!
This text is from an advertising brochure for a "discovery tour" in the Alps. What does the saying "Frisch auf" mean? Just something like "Come on!", or is there more to it?

: "Frisch auf" is the queried term and it's an idiomatic phrase meaning let's go, etc. Once again your refs fail to show a link between the source term and your proposal.

Apparently this is an old German expression--see link below.

Come on [and discover nature's secrets]!
Not a translation of the phrase as such, just an attempt to get all the relevant bits in line and put together something that sounds appealing in a marketing context.
or 'Join us in discovering nature's delights!'
Sticking too close to 'Frisch auf' seems to be leading to rather wooden options....

"Frisch auf"
ist leicht altertümelnd und stammt ursprgl. aus den Liedern der Wandervogelbewegung z.B. "Frisch auf, frisch auf mit frohem Mut im Moregnsonnenstrahl!..." Wohl aus dieser Tradition heraus wurde "Frisch auf" dann später als Titel von Sportvereinen beliebt.

: It has little to do with 'fresh' as stated above. cf www.ott-malinao.de/baden/d/lied.html I think Susan has it.
