French term

Law: Taxation & Customs
Auditing of a multinational company by French tax authority
This is a questionnaire from the French tax authority. The phrasing confuses me. Would this be about market penetration/domination or targeting a new market?
Au titre des exercices 2004 et 2005, la société voudra bien préciser si elle ***se plaçait en phase de conquête de marché*** sur toutes ou certaines de ces gammes de produits.
The wording seems cumbersome (if this is obvious, forgive me - I have been staring at this for almost 24 hours!).
MTIA - any ideas welcomed.

Comment: "kostan and ikwon, both of you had reasonable ideas on this. I went with this one as it seems the safest. Many thanks to Jenn Mercer too."

in a position to conquer the market
IMO -
the company wants to determine whether in 2004/2005 it was in a position to conquer the market with all or some of its brands
