English term

Prescriptor

English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Equipment
Dear all,
I would like to know the meaning of "Prescriptor" in the following text:

"SPECIFICATION means all and any codes, standards, drawings, requisition and specifications set out in the CONTRACT and to be complied with by SUPPLIER. (To add as suggested by the Prescriptor)."

Many thanks in advance!

Translated from Dutch Hi David,
Yes, it's translated from Dutch into English. Actually that same point came to my mind. I think, in such a context,"Prescriptor" is intended to mean the person in charge of the contract wording. But that "Prescriptor" 's meaning is not confirmed by dictionaries.

I agree with david. It could well be a mistranslation.

Ali, is this translated from a third language? The word "prescriptor" suggests that to me, and I wonder if it is used as a (mis)translation of a word meaning "the person who defines (prescribes) how a contract is worded"? It's very rarely used in BE.

the creator of the invention

I do a pre-script up for all the inventions, and a few years ago I used to send in a pre-script to the patent Attorney, he would then write the script up according to my specifications. (Now I do it all my self) So I was the prescriptor of the text and I would have special notes on the script for the Attorney.
