French term

HSVG

French to English Medical Medical: Cardiology ECG
In a list of results for an ECG: rythme sinus régulier à 70/mn; PR 0,16 s; HSVG et ischémie diffus.

I suspect this is a typo for HVG -- hypertrophie ventriculaire gauche -- as all I can find for HSVG is host-specific virulence gene, which doesn't seem relevant. But I'd be glad of other opinions.

TIA.

Reposted from RfC section Drmanu49: 20:45 Nov 30, 2008: I think you are probably right about the typo, host-specific virulence gene is not relevant whereas
LVG with ischemia is.
Lionel Marlier: 20:55 Nov 30, 2008: Human Saphenous Vein Graft ??? Mais je préfère penser à une typo...
Drmanu49: 21:02 Nov 30, 2008: Sorry please read LVH!
Lionel Marlier: 21:15 Nov 30, 2008: Indeed Manu, I believe it's a typo !
Rimas Balsys: 21:47 Nov 30, 2008: Yes, you're absolutely right, I think it's a typo :-)
Rimas Balsys Dec 1, 2008:
...sorry, I meant 'may well be typo' not '...type' ..
Rimas Balsys Dec 1, 2008:
Re my answer HSVG On reflection it may well be a type so that 'HVG' is correct. It think you need to see what makes most sense in the context...

Thank you Rimas.
agree cmorin : Appears to fall into the context. However human saphenous vein graft is also possible. Because these are used for cardiac by pass and could imply an unsuccessful graft with diffuse ischemia. For the asker to place in context. A rca graft?

HSVG (Human Saphenous Vein Grafts)

A procedure in heart surgery
Note from asker:
Possible but I don't think it is likely as a) this is the meaning of the acronym in English and b) the stenosis mentioned in the text is in the right coronary artery not the saphenous vein.
