Les « stocks d’écrêtage » ou d’anticipation, sont constitués avant la date normale d’utilisation en prévision d’un phénomène à venir, notamment une charge dépassant la capacité ; il facilite une production régulière en amortissant les variations saisonnières des ventes.
There are other examples of "écrêtage" in the glossary but they don't seem to fit my context. I haven't been able to find any translations for my term online but am hoping a standard translation exists. Any ideas?

They're actually talking here about the "adjustment stock" (the items produced to adjust the flow), not the adjustment or production-smoothing process iself.
