Sorry if this looks like three questions - but I need to know if these classifications correspond with the approach boundaries I have found in the form NFPA 70 (Limited Approach Boundary, Restricted approach Boundary, Prohibited approach Boundary) It appears in a ppt presentation about H&S regs for working with electricity and refers specifically to a diagram of an electrical installation in an area that has been divided up into the above categories. How I translate voisinage (proximity? vicinity?) is particulary important as it subsequently appears several times in the presentation under headings such as "personnel habilites au voisinage" This was not supposed to be a technical doc! Help would be very welcome.

: Absolutely correct. The IEC/IEV is the recognised world reference in this stuff - even if the terms sometimes sound unnatural (e.g. 'vicinity zone').

neighbouring / adjacent
'Neighbouring' or 'adjacent' area/zone' would make the most sense in the context you've supplied.
And of course '...ouring' would be'...oring' for US/Can.

Broadly, from the context you're provided, I'd understand these as 'approach area / adjacent area / high-voltage area'
