Hmm... bij nader inzien misschien toch niet van toepassing in deze context. Het Financieel Woordenboek [Van Poll, Het Financieele Dagblad, ISBN 90 76173 11 7 meldt bijvoorbeeld: "Komt vooral voor in de optie-, futures- en termijncontracthandel. In bepaalde situaties moeten beleggers een waarborgsom (margin) storten. De hoogte van die waarborgsom wordt frequent berekend. Wanneer die niet meer toereikend is moet de belegger bijstorten".

"Call" alleen is misschien wat vaag.

Ik sluit mij helemaal aan bij de door Louis gegeven uitleg. Het gaat hier idd om een verplichting tot bijstorten op aandelen die bij inschrijving niet volledig zijn volgestort ('partly-paid shares' of 'contributing shares').
Voor het specifieke begrip 'bijstortingsverplichting' lijkt 'installment obligation' een bruikbare vertaling. Deze 'installment obligation' wordt bij uitgifte van de aandelen vastgelegd. Zie hits op Google.

Eerlijk gezegd ben ik ook een beetje 'zoekende' naar de juiste vertaling voor het begrip 'bijstortingsverplichting'. Mijn suggestie (medium confidence) is o.m. gebaseerd op links zoals hieronder. Hieruit blijkt ook dat de bijstorting niet per se eenmalig hoeft te zijn maar ook op meerdere data kan plaatsvinden!
Tot slot, misschien moet je ook wel gewoon kiezen voor een vertaling zoals '(shareholders') obligation/liability to pay calls' :-)
