Does anyone have a proper English translation for "almendra" when used in this type of sentence (regarding an architectural description of a business complex)?: "Ubicada al oeste de la **almendra** central, junto a una de las entradas principales, dispone de un aparcamiento exterior." Is this something shaped like an almond? Is this some specialized architectural term?

central area
This is what it means, I don't think it implies that the area necessarily has an almond shape. HTH

Comment: "I agree with you. It is the center of the complex. Thanks to all."

or "core" of the complex. I think it has more to do with the centrality than with the shape (the almond is like the "nucleus" of the whole almond fruit).

kernel
Almendra - kernel.
Personally I prefer the term “kernel” as it conveys the association of being the very centre of something (“núcleo”) in connection with the nut “almendra”.

I looked up "almendra" in "el Dicciónario de la lengua espanóla". It says that "almendra" can refer to the seed [or core] of the almond fruit. "Central core" is a common architectural design term. I hope my architectural background will be useful in this translation.

central "almond" of the city/almond-shaped central area of the city
it seems to be widely known as this, though I would put it in inverted commas or something - depends on the readership, too
or almond-shaped central area of the city
this area : "Green Spaces:
GRUPORAGA, S.A. Has been chosen by the City Hall of Madrid to maintain and preserve the Parks and Green Spaces of the city. The zone1 includes 7 districts of Centro, Arganzuela, Retiro, Salamanca, Chamartín, Tetuán and Chamberí, that come to be the central almond of the city."

: This may be the correct translation in the case of Madrid, but the asker's document has to do with a building complex, not a city.

I thought it was talking about the location of the complex, close to one of the main routes into the city...

: This a building complex, however, architects use city planning concepts to design large complexes. Almond or almond shaped plaza are not concepts normally seen in anglo architecture, this is a Spanish configuration. Architectural lingo is very flexible.
