31 мая 1999 года я получила еще одно сообщение и очень странным путем.
Мой перевод :...I got a next sign and in a very unusual way.
Речь идет не о письме-сообщении, а послании сверху, то есть о событии в судьбе человека. Можно ли перевести так, или все-таки лучше оставить message. В общем, опять сомнения по поводу простого слова. Спасибо всем заранее.

I agree with Pongrac that "message" is a good translation.
I just wanted to mention also that the word "next" ("a next sign") sounds a bit odd -- I would suggest "another".
