German term

Fertigkeitsprüfung / Kenntnisprüfung

German to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
These are two separate parts of an exam, the first being the practical part and the latter being the theoretical one - that much I know.

Would it be okay to translate it as:
Practical Skills / Theoretical (Subject) Knowledge?

Also, is it necessary to add the word exam after the terms?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Note from asker:
Die Begriffe stehen so iin einem deutschen Prüfungszeugnis - ich benötige Übersetzungmöglichkeiten ins Englische.
