chargé de travaux

I haven't found the English equivalent for this one yet. It's in a list of qualifications required for the people doing some work involving using ultrasound and adjusting the tension of anchorage ties (in structures of industrial buildings). This one is
"chargé de travaux RP2-HN2"
and the only other one is
"exécutant RP1-HN1".
I thought it might be "foreman" but that woud more likely be "chef d'équipe"
Can you help?

Any of these would work, imo.

: Also supervisor, ganger, chargehand, leading hand. I don't think the French term has a precise definition.

Comment: "I used "senior operative" which seemed suitable in this case (I don't yet know what the client thinks of this!). You helped me to understand the freedom I had in translating this case."
