Swedish term

fullföljd

Swedish to English Law/Patents Law (general) Divorce
From a law firm letter to a District Court., heading:
"Fullföljd av äktenskapsskillnad"
In every dictionary and wordlist (Gullberg, Domstolsordlista, Polisens termbank etc.) 'fullföljd' is 'appeal'. Norstedts stora svenska agrees: "hänskjutande till högra instans".
YET: "Efter lagstadgad betänketid får undertecknad XX yrka att tingsrätten i dom dömer till äktenskapsskillnad mellan mig och XX."
This person seems to be asking for the divorce to be FINALISED, not an APPEAL. Is the law firm using 'fullföljd' wrongly? Or are all the dictionaries missing something?

making absolute

Juridikens termer (Almqvist & Wiksell): fullföljd av talan is the appeal.

The web ref. suggests the law firm's letter use of fullföljd is right. Whether fullföljning is preferable is for native Swedes to decide.
