Spanish term
valórico

Other

This term comes up a lot in my current text and I can usually get away with 'valuable', 'worthwhile' or 'values-based'. However, the most problematic example is the following:
Ellos corresponden a un cambio de perspectiva y todo cambio de perspectiva es esencialmente valórico.
Any ideas?
Thanks

a change in values
...any change in perspectives is essentially a change in values.
I think the repetition is needed here to give the emphasis to the idea of values that is given in the Spanish.

values-based
I think you already have it with "values-based"!

: the "s" is unnecessary, the appropriate form is "value-based"

"Value-based" means based on something's value (i.e. cost, price, etc.); "values-based" means based on someone's values (i.e. principles, criteria, beliefs, etc.)

: Sounds better IMO and does not err in the extraneous adjectival "s"

You could even say "is essentially relevant" to change the tack. NOTE: "based on values = value-based", no adjectival "s" being required.

The adjective form is normally singular. No concordant "s" is usually required in English, except when absolutely necessary to avoid ambiguity. "Value-based" does not necessarily mean "based on only one value" but rather "based on values" . This is not just my opinion, but received information. I rest my case.
