Japanese to English
Tech/Engineering
Optics
This seems to refer to a type of compound mirror that folds a beam of light around. The text I'm working on is referring to its use in colour laser printers, although it seems to be more common in camera viewfinders.
I hope someone can help quickly -- I'm tired and fed up and I want to go to bed!!!

roof mirror (array)
From the first URL below: ペンタプリズム【penta-prism】…
Ricoh uses "array" because copiers have a wider field to cover than an SLR camera.

ダフ is from German Dach, as in Dachstein ski boots and ¥"Lieber den Spatz in der Hand als die Taube auf dem Dach¥"--better a bird in the hand than three in the bush.

Roof or Hinged Mirror
I'm not too keen on this stuff, but I got the impression that these two types of mirrors are similar, if not the same thing.
Something went wrong...
