French term

Porteur

French to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software
Il faut savoir que si un besoin est porteur d'un dossier, la proposition d'approvisionnement sera porteuse du dossier ([nom]) et que les besoins en composants ([nom] et leurs [nom]) seront porteurs du même dossier.

From an ERP software programme. Have to admit I'm stumped, even tho' I've looked at the glossaries etc. Can anyone help, pls?

linked to a folder/file??

The text is certainly very woolly! This suggestion just might fit your context?

If this is ERP as in 'enterprise resource planning', I imagine it *might* mean something like this (with 3 different translations of porteur/euse):

It must be understood that if a requirement is accompanied by a folder, the supply proposal will include a folder identified as ([X]), and that the component requirements ([Y] and their [Z]) will bear the same folder ID.
