German term

Plausibilisierung

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks
This is taken from an error message, the exact context is as follows:

"Für Firma trat ein Fehler bei der ELSTER-Plausilierung auf, siehe TMCALLS.LOG! Firma: 001."

Does anyone know what they mean by "Plausilierung" here? Could it be something to do with "plausibility check"?

Any feedback much appreciated!

sanity test
A sanity test or "smoke test" (note: many do not consider the terms synonymous) is a brief run-through of the main functionality of a computer program or other product. It gives a measure of confidence that the system works as expected prior to a more exhaustive round of testing.

validity check

In the USA, I have never heard of a 'plausibility check.' Here, it is a validity check.

The only places I have seen plausibility check have been translated articles or websites. So, I would be careful out there!

and all the google uses of 'plausilierung' point to one source. From this, I think it IS validity check.
