when there is something I don't know

This is depending on the context, I can't say for sure if there is a subordinate clause inmplied.
The ommission of the t at the end of nicht is Prussian dialect, was is short for etwas.
Good luck!

I don't know what

Used in the spoken colloquial language to have the equivalence (in American colloquial) to "I don't know what", "what do I know" or (in modern American teenager colloquial) to "whatever".

As in: "So then all of a sudden she came screaming I don't know what…"
"Dan kam sie auf ein Mal und fing an weiß ich was nich' zu schreien..."

Is there something I don't know?

Since we are missing the context, this could also be meant as a question in the sense of "is there something that I am missing"?

Reference:

Colloquial German
