I'm really at a loss here - I've always thought a "tacco aperto" was a slingback but the images provided show good old Oxford lace-ups so I'm presuming we are talking about the construction method, but after that, I've run out of imagination!

There's a glossary here, Angela, but there aren't many refs around for the translations it gives so not sure about how reliable they are :( Good luck
