French term

extrait hydroglycériné

French to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Context is a presentation of a natural slimming product.

-Mélange de 13 extraits de plantes sélectionnés.
-85 % d’extrait hydroglycériné de phyto-actifs réglementairement autorisés.

Several hundred google hits for "extrait hydroglycériné", but only one or two unreliable looking ones for "hydroglycerinated extract". Any other suggestions?
Apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

Dr Sue Levy (X) Oct 4, 2005:
Also, glycerin/e = glycerol - you might find something down that path. BTW for DocteurPC, glycerine IS soluble in water, it's an alcohol.
Dr Sue Levy (X) Oct 4, 2005:
I'm not sure of the term in English, but the plant extract(s) is (are) added to an excipient of water and glycerine. The relative proportions vary from product to product.

hydroglycerine extract

It is an extract of the chemical hydroglycerine - see this website which sounds a lot like the product you are describing!

hydro-glycerinated or hydroglycerinated

you're not missing anything, they just combined two words - hydro (water) and glycerine=glycerine same thing in both languages except for the accent
not I don't know how they can mix water based with glycerine which is oil based - you know the one about oil and water not mixing

hydroglycerinated extract

the extract consists of a mixture of water(hydro) and glycerine.This adjective should do, I do not find any other alternative.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Sylvia Smith : it is an extract of hydroglycerine, not an extract that has had something done to it (been "hydroglycerinated")

a glycerol(-added) aquous (extract)

I suppose this extract is not completely soluble in waterat at that high a concentartion and therefore necessitates some glycerol added in order to render it totally soluble.
glycerin = glycerol (same thing)
you could also ammit added
Peer comment(s):

agree Dr Sue Levy (X) : extract... in aqueous glycerol solution?

extract [...] in glycerine solution/glycerine tincture

I think it's the extract of the "phyto-actifs réglementairement autorisés" in a glycerine solution - now, after looking at the site below, think this may be translated as "glycerine tincture"
