Spanish term

peto protector

Spanish to English Science Medical: Health Care hospital falls
caídas de la silla (atribuibles a) la falta de petos protectores o por deslizamiento.

PETO is sually associated with chest protection, so any ideas?

Discussion

Lia Fail (X) (asker) Sep 1, 2005:
why would chest protection be necessary for a chair? One thing is the usual understanding of 'peto', but another thing is that 'peto' is not usually attached to a chair, but worn by teh PERSON on their chest. So this is a new meaning/use for 'peto', as I don't see that wearing a 'bib' (like a baby), or 'chest protection' (like a fencer), is a logical way to protect someone (e.g. an elderly person) from a fall from a chair.

chest harness

Check out the "cinturón peto" on this page in Spanish:

And then the "chest harness" here:

The 4-point chest harness is perfect for providing full anterior upper body support.
