out of my field here but I've come to be so curious about this stuff :o)

edmond suggestion seemed quite likely to me, but as far as I've been able to read here and there on google in italian, the piastrelle diamantate might rather be tiles *coated with diamond dust* (though I'm quite astonished by such a thing)

however, diamond tiles in EN seems to be mainly referred to the pattern or shape of the tile, and I can't seem to find any alternative (eg, I don't think you can say diamonded...)

however, I've also found this link, which is likely to be relevant here, and it calles them *diamond tiles* - but when I go and open it up the relevant lines seem to have vanished...

non riesco più a trovare i siti da cui ero partita... e senza di loro l\'ipotesi che a essere diamantata sia la piastrella anziché la fresa sembra davvero assurda... probabilmente lo è in ogni caso!

ultima aggiunta: c\'è un unico sito italiano (quindi poco attendibile) che con tanto di immagine traduce diamantate con beveled:

sì, l\'immagine è quella di bordi sfaccettati, o forse puoi dire smussati - giorni fa in dentistry è comparsa una domanda su bevel e la risposta era *margine a bisello* (che ti sia utile?) - avevo capito che si riferiva per lo più agli strumenti (per questo mi pareva strano come rivestimento della mattonella), ma nella mia ignoranza credevo si parlasse davvero di povere di diamanti :o)))
