I don’t get it either.
Sven’s posting sounds like a recommendation to me, but after reading Roberto’s and Graciela’s postings, I am little puzzled. Is there something wrong with AIMFix? I couldn’t find any negative information about it. Only positive, see for instance http://itweb.providence.edu/helpdesk/docs/antispyware/aimfix.html . This page als... See more I don’t get it either.

I only see a helpful tool, to fix virus. Am I missing something?
In my opinion the previous posts should have included their point points of view further developed. Single phrases, a single link, lead us to think: What did she/he want to say?
My questions:
1) Is the AIM fix tool a good tool? Why do you recommend it? I don't know anything about AIM viruses.
2) Why it is an innocence? Is there a joke? Could you please explain? I visited the site, it... See more I only see a helpful tool, to fix virus. Am I missing something?

I'm completely lost.

To be honest I haven't used the AIMFix utility (so I can't know if there are better tools for removing AIM viruses or if this utility causes a special problem) but after reading the related links I think that it is genuine and Sven is recommending this utility.
The utility can be also downloaded from Softpedia:

I agree with people who find the mentioned disclaimer funny, the parts where it says "...may not be related to ... software" and "Your results may vary" seems a bit humorous. But I think such disclaimers are to be expected because these freeware utilities generally aren't foolproof and removing adware / spyware can sometimes be tricky. I use Spybot for removing spyware / malware in general (but that isn't a foolproof utility too, I am about to purchase a better software). Spybot too has a legal disclaimer that says if you remove advertising robots / spyware from your computer with the Spybot utility, you may not be able to continue using the host program. (Which generally is the freeware product that you downloaded initially and which installed the adware/spyware on your computer.)
