Powwow in Riga, Latvia, July 7th

Latvian community has finally come up with a powwow plan - Riga, 07.07.07. Now there's also an idea to set the starting time at 07:07:07 PM.

Excellent timing May 9, 2007

Dear Austra,

I think you hit the bull's eye with this timing. First I was thinking if I can make to Riga this time, but it seems rather unlikely.
Then I thought: why not organize powwows in different cities on the same date?
As far as I remember, when the notion of powwows was first introduced, such events were held on the same day (15th December 2001, if I'm not mistaken) in at least 20 different cities.

Then I thought: why not organize powwows in different cities on the same date?
As far as I remember, when the notion of powwows was first introduced, such events were held on the same day (15th December 2001, if I'm not mistaken) in at least 20 different cities.
We could be doing something similar now. After a solitary brainstorming session I came up with the following ideas:
- If there are powwows in several cities on the same date, a dedicated forum thread could be set up for reports and accounts.
- As many Prozians might be on vacation at this time, they should be encouraged to join (or even propose) a powwow where they happen to be on 7/7/07
- The list could be further expanded in a joint brainstorming session

The date indeed is quite interesting and I like the idea of powwows taking place in different cities at the same time, too.

This date will be quite special in Latvia, because on that day our president will step down, we'll have a referendum and very many couples have chosen this day for their wedding ceremony. As one of Latvian community members said, hopefully the world won't come to an end:)
