I set goals for myself – usually pretty high ones, too – but those are not related very much to what others do or what their goals are. Of course I can compete in the market (otherwise I would not have had a successful business), but competition with others is not at all a driver for me.

I don't know how useful it is asking people to define themselves this way.
My response would probably something along the lines of "up to a point", but with a healthy modicum of self-doubt. I try to be aware of my shortcomings and am only willing to compete if I think I stand a chance of winning.

I am not competitive at all with others. Well, maybe I was a little bit back in my younger days: I hated losing to my brothers. I am competitive with myself. I set my own goals, I have a persevering nature, I don’t give up easily and looking back I am proud of all the obstacles I was able to overcome.

I do set very high goals for myself (too high sometimes) but they've got precious little to do with others.

Yes, sometimes I feel the need to prove myself, which motivates me to work harder.

I want to earn decent money but not at the expense of others.
I actually think competition is evil.
For example in sport: OK you can get a thrill out of racing. But those who lose, lose more than just a race. Their self-esteem gets a battering, and they don't enjoy running as much any more. Millions of people get turned off sport this way. This is one reason why we now have loads of people with health issues that would clear up in no time if only they exercised.
