This article is outlining the public opinion. During a "One-Day Seminar on the Translation of Books", 1991, in Jakarta, for instance, we heard a story about a lecturer at the University of Indonesia who prohibited his students to use the translated books on economics published by one of publishers in Jakarta due to the misleading translation. In the final stage of Princess and Prince of Indonesian Books, September 1996 in Jakarta, a contestant judged that the translation of his book which is published by a foreign writer was very bad. During the launching and discussion of a Book in the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas), Dr Salim Said made a story that he gave up reading a translated book, especially those from English into Indonesian, as the content is misleading. And according to Satmoko Budi Santoso, (Matabaca Oktober 2003), it has become an issue in several articles, reports and readers' opinion in the newspapers. If this is the case, who will be responsible? Translator? Editor? Publisher? Readers? And what should we do?
