Στη Σκωτία η εξάτμιση είναι περίπου 2%, ενώ στην Ινδία είναι περίπου 12% ετησίως. Σε περιοχές με υψηλή υγρασία χάνεται περισσότερη αλκοόλη απ ότι νερό με αποτέλεσμα ο αλκοολικός βαθμός να πέφτει.
