Story flagged by: RominaZ

The amended rules provide for the appointment of provisionally certified interpreters, and in cases in which a Spanish interpreter is utilized, only a certified or registered interpreter is allowed. For cases pending on Aug. 27 in which a hearing on the merits was held before Aug. 27, there are amended procedures related to appeals, requests for a transcript of pleadings, a bill of exceptions, records checked out, briefs, scheduling, oral arguments, opinions, dismissal of appeals, and costs.

The court also proposed to repeal a rule regarding appeals after review. The court created a new rule dealing with judicial vacancy. A public hearing is scheduled for Aug. 10 at 9:30 a.m. in room 1524, first floor, State Capitol Building in Lincoln. Comments should be e-mailed to [email protected] before the public hearing.
