Hi everyone!! What do you think about meeting at 1:30 p.m.? This has been proposed by some Prozians who are taking the ATA exam and would want to have the Powwow right after the exam. Would that work for everyone? Patricia has proposed Pim's Restaurant (Palacio de Cristal del Itchimbía).

The idea is to have an informal get-together to talk about translation-related issues with other professionals, and, most importantly, make new friends and have a good time. I hope the proposed time and place works for everyone, but it is not set in stone. Please let me know if you can attend so that we can make a reservation.

Dear RHuber: Thanks for your interest!! I personally think the more, the merrier! Although I initially thought of leaving my husband at home, on the second thought, though... After all, this is not a formal translators' event.

What does everyone else think? Should we limit this to translators only or extend the invitation to kids and family members?

As I have four kids, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to have a decent conversation with anyone if I bring them. Besides, I'm always the one taking care of the family when my husband goes to meetings, which I don't mind at all of course, but as they already have their own program for this Saturday, I'll enjoy being doing something related to work by myself this once.

What would be the purpose of bringing kids & pets? I honestly think the nature of a powwow is quite different... Let's enjoy the possibility of talking about our profession and related subjects without bored husbands, kids and dogs around... See you!

Executive decision: translators only this time around Sep 5, 2007

Hi everyone,
Since time is so short, based on the feedback received so far I took the liberty to make this decision on behalf of the group: let's have a translators only meeting this time around. In the future we could have a picnic or another type of a weekend event where we could include family members and perhaps even pets. I hope everyone can make it!
