As administrative head of the Computer Training Division, I setup courses, put together manuals, hired instructors, designed training seminars for outside clients and also taught some of the courses. We increased the number of courses offered, students registered, and training seminars conducted to business clients compared to the previous years. I also initiated opening the University Open Computing Services and formed a volunteer student group called Student Computer Consultants who helped provide skill and labor. The goal of University Open Computing Services is to provide computing resources to university personnel and students for a small fee. This provided a service to the university, gave computer science majors applied work experience, and generated revenue for the department of PhP 11,000.00 per school year. Systems Analyst (1998-1999) Defense Automated Printing Services (DAPS), MCAS Cherry Point, NC I performed combined functions of systems analyst, network administrator, programmer, and chief document information specialist to support services for desktop and web publishing, multimedia publishing and digital conversion and archiving of documents for our government clients. I directed the area that provided the information technology support and supervised 4 DAPS branches--MCAS Cherry Point, MCB Camp Lejeune, MCB Camp Johnson, and Seymour Johnson AFB Goldsboro, with a staff of 1-2 people in the IT group in each location. Programmer Contractor and Graduate Assistant (1997-1999) Endicott Johnson Corporation (MIS Department), Binghamton, NY Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence (SPIR-Binghamton University) As graduate assistant and programmer contractor my job was to program software components using Visual BASIC to facilitate integration of third party software solutions to in-house systems software. I was also involved in the assessment of information systems requirements of various depts. within the company to facilitate migration from a mainframe based IBM 360 environment to a IBM RISC 6000 client-server environment. Human Factors Engineer (Intern 1995-1996) IBM Corporation, Research Triangle Park, NC (Intern) Involved in development of prototypes of software products that became specifications for final product development. Involved in design and usability evaluation fo software, hardware and web-based products. Did research on handwriting recognition technologies and the results of this research were published in a technical journal and presented in two professional conferences. Programmer (Intern 1992-1994) IBM Owego, NY Developed database applications on the VM-CMS system using REXX for payroll, personnel and other internal IBM depts. Was part of the group that developed the Infoview Applications for the mainframe that won an Excellence Plus QIT award. Created a working prototype of a PC front end to a VM database application using EASEL2 Workbench. Human Factors Engineer (Intern 1991-1992) IBM Charlotte, NC Involved in the usability evaluation of software applications and hardware products. Involved in coding the prototype for Consumer Transaction 2-OS2 version using EASEL 2 Workbench. Conducted research on icon design for the graphical user interface. The results of this research were presented at an IBM International Human Factors conference.
