My strongest qualities are my relevant work experiences as a freelance translator, specializing in legal terminology and intimate familiarity with the English language and culture: thecombined result of academic, professional and life experiences in both Spanish and English speaking countries.
I have been working in the translation industry for 6 years and in keeping with the pertinent requirements for my role, I can translate as many as 3,500 words a day. I work with SDL Trados 2007, SDLX and MS Office. I translate with precision and special attention to meanings and style, as well as commitment to quality and timeliness.
I have completed studies in law and real estate management as well as working several years in brokerage and real estate management in my native Argentina. I have also worked in Business Development Management in the United States and Canada, and currently hold the position of President of Operations for the non-profit organization “Innovative Communities” in the city of Victoria, British Columbia. I have lived in Holland, Argentina, the United States and Canada, but currently call Victoria, BC home where I live with my wife and our 2-year-old son.
Spanish and English have been naturally interwoven in both my professional and personal life for many years.
My university studies as well as my professional background make me particularly skillful in the following areas of translation: legal, financial, business, patents, real estate management and development; international bids, mergers and acquisitions. I am also currently building significant experience in certain areas of medical translation (angioplasty, stem cell research and therapy).
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions.
Sincerely,
Santiago Mascaró
