ProZ.com powwow: NY & NJ collegues + book exchange + kids

May 16, 2015, 10:00 am

I invite my ProZ.com colleagues to my house for an afternoon coffee/tea. The place is in Rutherford, NJ at Union Ave/Prospect Pl. I will send the exact address to confirmed attendees closer to the date. You can drive here, or take a bus from Port Authority in Manhattan and it will bring you literally to our doors in 25 minutes.

This is a great opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, expand professional network in NY and NJ. No matter what you do on ProZ.com, you are welcome: translators and interpreters, freelancers and agencies. Feel free to bring your family members or a friend (kids are welcome).

You will have a chance to introduce yourself, meet others, indulge yourself with fresh coffee and treats, feel part of a group, and become the community. The goal is to meet and continue meeting and supporting each other.

Do you have any books or magazines related to translation or interpreting that you've read but you don't need to keep any more? Bring them along and choose something else to read in exchange.

I have been a ProZ.com member since 2007 and a full-time translator and interpreter since 2009 after completing my M.A. in Bilingual Translation. We are relatively new in NJ and used to live in NY, so I am looking forward to get to know other linguists living close by. I have two girls (3 and 8), so they will be at this powwow too.

It will be an easy going very friendly event. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Tatyana
