Monday evening at Monk's Pub Aug 6, 2012

Monk’s Pub (205 W. Lake St., Chicago, IL 60606) is a popular downtown after-work location for legal professionals (but anybody is welcome). Monk’s Pub specializes in offering a wide variety of beers, along with standard hard and soft drinks. In addition, it offers meals, appetizers, and side dishes. The price of a typical beer is $4. A typical meal costs $10. The atmosphere is informal. There are baskets of peanuts at every table, and you can throw the shells on the floor! Because it is on t... See more

Because it is on the north side of the Loop, it is close to public transportation. The closest L stops are Clark & Lake (Blue, Orange, Pink, Brown, Purple & Green lines), Merchandise Mart (Brown & Purple lines), and Washington & Wells (Brown, Purple, Pink & Orange lines).

This meeting is a combined meeting of this ProZ powwow and a meetup of the Chicago-Area Translators and Interpreters Meetup Group (http://www.meetup.com/Chicago-Area-Translators-and-Interpreters/).

Hi Joseph, I would like to know if the powwow is an online event or I should attend it in person. What time do you guys usually meet at the pub?

In Person (sorry that I missed your cooment) Aug 23, 2012

Ganerdene,

I am new to ProZ, so I was unaware of your comment the past few days.

This is an in-person event, not on-line. This is our first powwow, so there is no "usual" time. I chose this time to best accommodate anyone working in downtown Chicago in a 9-5, M-F job. I chose this location because it is downtown Chicago, is popular, and has a legal clientele (legal being a common specialty of translators and interpreters). I chose this location because it is downtown Chicago, is popular, and has a legal clientele (legal being a common specialty of translators and interpreters). From what I see in your Meetup profile, I see that you would need to make a significant commute. I don't think that there is parking reserved for Monk's Pub. If you need to park a car, you would need to street park or park in a facility.

Thanks for your interest,
Joseph
