acronym
Hi all -
I am translating a legal memorandum where this abbreviation - SOS - is used in then following context:
io sottoscritto Signora XXX, nato a ROMA il 01/01/1950, residente in STATI UNITI D'AMERICA,
Cod. Fisc.
I believe that it is connected to either social security or health care for pensioners.
Can someone tell me what the acronym SOS stands for?
Thanks!
P.S. - Based on what you suggest, the specified field for this query will probably need to change. I currently have it under "Medical: Health Care" which may not be right.

I'll move it to legal as per your suggestion. You probably have more functioning brain cells than I do at the moment (I just had yet another surgery and am not feeling 100%).
So this might be some sort of life insurance or annuity payment.
I'm in the dark because the company names and logos have been redacted...
Why don't you post this under Legal? You might get some people who actually understand this stuff :)
Not sure what they mean by "superstiti", if it means the surviving spouse of a couple where the other is deceased. Also look here:
