Beckenspaninterposition
The text in german goes like this:
"Nach Fixateuranlage Distraktion über mehrere Wochen. Sollte dies nicht gelinge, erfolgt Beckenspaniterposition". I am very confused about the term...

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

to b) The text is about a person with metatarsal pains from shortening of the metatarsal bone IV and fracture of the said bone 4 years ago. He is undergoing distraction osteotomy of the bone.
I know becken means pelvis, this is why the term seems so confusing to me. Perhaps a mistake?
b) The text is about metatarsal bone? I ask because 'Becken' denotes the pelvis
