French term

toute éviction ou charge prétendue

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) General purchasing conditions
Le fournisseur garantit sans aucune réserve contre toute éviction ou charge prétendue sur ce qu’il livre.

Any suggestions for how to render in English exactly what it is that the supplier is warranting?

Ideas and comments very gratefully received, as ever...

Josh Ord-Hume (asker) Dec 6, 2009:
My apologies for this late answer to your questions about my question.
The document in question is an enumeration of CONDITIONS GÉNÉRALES D'ACHAT for a company that is specialised in developing and marketing health products. The suppliers in question are - I would imagine - contracted to supply the raw materials and ingredients (among other things) that are used in these health products.
The section in which this clause figures is the "Garantie" section...
Many thanks once again for your help... and my apologies once again (Sundays do not always unfold such as we would like them to...).

might help to know what this is about what service/product is being provided/supplied??

This is close to what I had in mind:
"xxx garantit XXX contre tout trouble, revendication, éviction et plus généralement, contre toute action de la part de toute personne invoquant un droit de quelque nature que ce soit sur les Produits...."

Thanks, writeaway. My comment was based on several contracts I did, one of them quite recently. You are right, until we get more context, we don't really know.
