The di-, tri-, tetra-sialo and late-eluting forms are considered to be “desirable” forms; in contrast, the neutral and mono-sialo forms are terminally galactosylated and therefore are more likely to increase the clearance of the rVIIa-FP in the body through recognition by asialoglycoprotein receptors (Seested et al. 2010). Control of the overall N-linked sialylation levels will ensure product consistency and a consistent serum half life.
