What does "dl" stand for?

In Germany, both are used, mg/dl etc. and mmol/l, since 1985 now we have not been able / not willing to get used to the exclusive use of SI units. :-)

This is the usual way of expressing biochemical medical test results in the US but most other countries use the SI nomenclature, in mmole/litre.

It's 100 ml, or one tenth of a litre.

Litre is British English, liter is what most other English speakers use.
