English to Spanish Medical Medical (general) medicine

Maybe there is a more striking expression than my suggestion, but I think that the important thing is that the expression is not restricted to HIV treatment; it has (probably) nothing to do with the virus anchoring itself onto the host cells.

Rather, an "anchor drug" is the principal drug for the physician to use in the first place in most cases of a certain disease.
