Nothing better, only more (and in part repeated) background info

Declining Price Auction = (reverse auction or) downward auction = Abwärtsauktion with one supplier and many bidders, as you can see again at the following site:

http://www.reverseauction.com/jsp/auctions/PostReverseAuctio...

Starting Price $ ________ The Maximum that you will accept for each item.

Remember this is a Declining Price Auction!

Reserve Price $ ________ The Minimum that you will accept for each item.

There is a reference where a Vorwärtsauktion is explained as a Normalauktion:

http://www.gebraucht-auktion.de/emazeauction/seller/createlo...

Here is an old site where an upward auction is described in English:

http://www.cft.gob.mx/html/9_publica/six_info/info19.html

"In 1996, a public bid was performed for the first time in Mexico through a simultaneous upward auction. This type of process has, among others, the following characteristics:
· Several concessions are auctioned at the same time on frequencies which are mutual close substitutes products.
· The bidders simultaneously submit tenders for any of the concessions which are being auctioned in an open manner to the rest of the bidders, so that at the end of each round, all bidders have the information on the tenders of the other bidders.
· The bidders have to maintain the winning bid or submit tenders higher than those of the other bidders in a constant manner to maintain their capacity to submit tenders in subsequent rounds.
· The auction ends when no bidder is willing to submit an additional tender for any of the auctioned concessions."

I have found no German name for it, but again Zazie's Aufwärtsauktion sounds fine. The following site gives more info on different types of auction including upward but again no German term.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks, I agree with what you say. I used normale Auktion (or Aufwärtsauktion) and umgekehrte Auktion (Abwärtsauktion). Günter"

Abwärtsauktion, Aufwärtsauktion, Vorwärtsauktion

Diese Begriffe kamen ebenfalls in einer Übersetzung vor, die ich vor ein paar Wochen gemacht habe, und ich habe sie so übersetzt (an den Kontext kann ich mich leider nicht mehr erinnern, deshalb kann ich hier auch keine nähere Erklärung zum Warum abgeben :-))
