Change log

Feb 28, 2006 21:57: Fuad Yahya changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (1): Iman Khaireddine

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

i'm involved in experience on waste managment where waste divided on wet & dry basis: final destination of the wet is compost=org food stuff but may be also remainining dead plant this compost used as organic fertilizers it is beneficial in many ways : natural- retain water so not percolated rapidly to underground layers before absorbed by plant. Environmentalists usually prefer it as option to reuse organic waste, used and abused paper, dead plant, etc.
it is applied in the form of what we call "سبخات" sometimes we use the word تدبيل or transliterate it as كمبوست

neutral Dina Abdo : actually, I believe it's the تربة متحللة intended here. That's the one of ورق وقش متحلل ... it's usually known as فرشة وقاية. And compost would stand for the mixture not the type of soil itself.

خليط سماد عضوي/ سماد عضوي مخلوط

mulch would refer to عضوي
compost سماد مخلوط

So it's خليط سماد عضوي, or سماد عضوي مخلوط

مهاد أو فرشة من المخلفات النباتية أو العضوية للحماية أو التسميد

Mulch is defined in Family Program (2) dictionary as "يفرش مهادا" whereas Webster's Online defines it as a protective bedding of rotting vegetables to protect against rapid evaporation of water and soil erosion. Composting implies the degeneration of organic matter by microorganism, which is what natural fertilizers are all about. The context should indicate if it is fertilizer or protective bedding.
