French term

projet vendeur

French to English Bus/Financial Management C.V. of Purchasing Manager
Hello
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this term. Does it mean "sales project"??

This is one of the tasks he completed as part of his job. Here is the term in context:

"Mise en place d’un projet vendeur pour redynamiser le CA"

Thanks to anyone who can help and have a good weekend!

Discussion

Laurent Boudias Jul 20, 2007:
in this context - "projet vendeur pour redynamiser le CA", if you take the idea of vendeur as making money, you imply that the French text says the same thing twice. I'm worried that using just "a plan to increase turnover" is missing something.
Laurent Boudias Jul 20, 2007:
I think your choice just skip the term "vendeur". Vendeur doesn't necessarily mean that create more money, it means that it will be liked by others. An idea in the political debate can be "vendeur" ou "vendeuse" since idea has female gender in French.

No problem! Have a good one and thanks for your help.
katsy Jul 20, 2007:
OK sorry! took your question too literally! time for the weekend!
ST Translations (asker) Jul 20, 2007:
CA Thanks Katsy, I thought that Allegro Trans wanted to know what the CA/turnover actually was i.e. is it 50k a year etc. but I don't have that info.
katsy Jul 20, 2007:
CA = chiffre d'affaires = turnover = total sales figure of an organisation for a stated period (Oxford)
ST Translations (asker) Jul 20, 2007:
Hello Allegro Trans. Sorry but I don't know what the turnover is
AllegroTrans Jul 20, 2007:
What is the "CA"?

a money-making project

Something on the lines of Laurent's suggestion - a project which will be a money-maker, a money-spinner, bring in lots of money to liven up the turnover (chiffre d'affaires)

sales plan

it could be a project also but that denotes a more complex undertaking , so plan is better suited here

I should translate it like this
"setting up a sales plane for enhancing the sales figures",
CA stands for the sales figures the value of the total revenue of the company generated from its sales
