The signal appearance of the radio active trace contains statistic deviations
(noise). This may make the interpretation difficult.
Therefore Gina Star offers 2 smoothing functions. Both are working just
for the graphic and is changing NOT the raw data.
The first (up to Vers. 3 the only) function is the sliding mean smoothing.
This algorithm is well known and common use, but it has the disadvantage
that the peak height will be reduced by that smoothing.
The second is the smoothing by the algorithm of Savitzky Golay (In
mathematics also common use). This function has the advantage that
the peak height will be almost not reduced.
Switching on „Savitzky Golay“ will deactivate „sliding mean time“
smoothing.
