I am graduating in May, 2003 with a degree in Spanish. JUST PLAIN SPANISH. So where do I go from here? I would love to do oral interp but I have extremely limited experience. I want to be able to have a job where i can speak Spanish and English all day. Any ideas?

Take a look at this site

It\'s a masters course and trains you to interpret for all those high-powered institutions. The only catch is you need another language apart from English and Spanish (or come to think of it you might not be in Europe at all!)

I can\'t remember what the details of their schemes & diplomas are re. experperience already but that might be a start.

--Following on from what I just suggested, I believe a number of UK universities offer MAs in translating and interpreting - although I don\'t know if you are in the UK!

I\'ve sent you an address for one of the staff there (which I know does work).
I wondered if the message bounced because the IOL in it wasn\'t capitalized - something that\'s caught me out before - sorry if that has nothing to do with it

...an other sensible thing to do is to specialise yourself in some kind of niche market that you are interested in. There are zillions of general translators /interpreters, and to do well the best would be to get a specialized training in something you like.
That way, you would end up talking all day long with pros of stuff you like to talk about and rack in a good amount of dough too. (a little idealized, but well....)
